Here’s some more information about the memorial we are planning for Walter. The City of Portland has a new, “Adopt a Rose Bed Program.” Walter loved roses and at one time had over 100 roses in his backyard in Sacramento, CA. To read more about the program you can click here. The rose we picked is one we know he would love: The Lady of Shallot a David Austin Rose. To make a donation to help fund this memorial plus the release of two ebooks written by Walter please donate to his memorial fund.
We hope to organize an official memorial this summer at the Rose Garden in Portland. So all those who were touched by Walter can come together and share their memories of him. We’ll keep you informed as we put the details together.

We are sad to announce that after an extended illness our beloved teacher and friend Walter Makichen passed away quietly last Friday. If you wish to honor his memory please make a donation using the link to paypal that says, “Walter’s Memorial Fund.” We want to honor his memory by dedicating a rose bed in his name at the Portland International Rose Garden. Walter loved roses and at one time had over 100 different varieties in his garden. We think he would love this. Also, we still plan to release two new ebooks that he wrote in the very near future and your donations will also help that happen. Namaste.
